Nokia 6233:
2-megapixel 3G camera phone
The last mobile phone for today from Nokia is Nokia 6233. To say the truth, it makes the impression of the Nokia 6234 with its specs and appearance, but design is softer and less Vodafone-like. It is also made as a candy bar supporting WCDMA (2100 MHz) and GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz).
Nokia 6233 is equipped with a 2-megapixel camera, a color QVGA (240x320 pixels) screen, a music player, stereo speakers and Bluetooth interface. Its slot can work with microSD cards (up to 2 GB). The handset is based on Series 40 3rd Edition.
It supports different 3G services. There is Visual Radio client. The press release states that the device is slim and weighs 110 g, its volume is 81 cm3. The sales are expected after 2 previous models – 2Q 2006. The approximate price is €325.
Nokia 6234
The next new Nokia model announced today is Nokia 6234, designed for international operator Vodafone. It was developed for 3G networks and can work in WCDMA (2100 MHz) networks and GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz).
It’s a candy bar equipped with a 2-megapixel camera with 8x zoom, a QVGA (240x320 pixels) color screen, a music player, stereo speakers and Bluetooth interface. In addition there is the support of microSD (TransFlash) cards up to 2GB.
The device is made in a special industrial style of Vodafone operator, with the respective interface, including icons, menu and themes. There is the support of different 3G services, including Visual Radio client. The shipments of Nokia 6234 is expected in 1Q 2006.
Nokia 6282
The one dealt with a new 3G phone Nokia 6282 meant for the US market. According to the press release this is one of the first handsets designed for 1900 MHz UMTS networks, which should emerge during 2006 in America.
The phone is packed in a slider form and features a 2.2” QVGA 240x320x262K color screen, a 1-megapixel camera, an FM-tuner, an audio player, Bluetooth interface and a slot for miniSD cards with hot swap. In addition to UMTS it supports GSM (850/1800/1900 MHz) networking. The interface is based on Series 40 3rd Edition platform.
Naturally, Nokia 6282 can work with different 3G services, for example, receive stream audio and video content, download and send large size files quickly, including games, video and MP3 or AAC melodies. At the same time the phone weighs 113 g (4 ounces), that’s not much for a 3G-handset. It is expected to be commercially available already in 1Q 2006 on the markets with UMTS 1900 MHz networks.
